"Hope For The Future"
This mural marked a turning point in my journey as a creative.

As a Black Deaf woman from London, I never imagined I’d one day be painting my story onto a public wall across the ocean. But in March 2025, I brought that vision to life at Gallaudet University’s Hanson Plaza with Hope for the Future — my first-ever mural and a visual narrative rooted in identity, belonging, and possibility.

This wasn’t just paint on a wall. It was a statement.

Every detail — from the Earth to the sunflower, the stars to the planets — carries meaning. The mural reflects the richness of the Gallaudet community: a space where Deaf people from all over the world come together to grow, to connect, and to be seen. More than anything, it speaks to transformation — both collective and deeply personal.

It was also an act of reclaiming space. Of being visible. Of showing younger Black Deaf creatives what’s possible.

Creating this reminded me that art isn’t just about aesthetics — it’s about storytelling, healing loudly, and affirming presence.
I’m just getting started.
